Team members compete at every level from intro to CCI2**. Our team is a fun, safe, learning community for all levels of Collegiate Riders and Eventers! Each rider uses either their own horse or a leased horse in team lessons, schoolings, clinics, and competitions. While not all the team competes, we regularly travel to Woodside, Twin Rivers, Fresno County Horse Park, Woodland Stallion Station, and as far as Galway Downs and Shepherd Ranch for competitions.

The team trains under Holly Fox (Fox Farms) and Alana Curtis (Sunfire Equestrian Center). The team frequently brings in a variety of upper-level riders such as Lauren Billy's, Dom Schramm and Hawley Bennett to help broaden and refine all our skills as riders
Holly has been with the team since its creation. and has competed at the 5* level from coast to coast in the U.S. and internationally including competing at Rolex in Kentucky. Holly started riding at age 8 and she has been hooked ever since. Shortly after graduating from college, Holly was selected to be the Olympic test rider for the 1984 Fairbanks Ranch cross country course on her hot TB mare "Mo". Over the next several years, she was also selected for three USET winter training sessions on three different advanced level horses with both Jack Le Goff and Captain Mark Phillips where she gained invaluable classical methods of training. In addition to actively competing in eventing Holly also cross-trains in the jumper and dressage ring earning her Bronze medal in 2017. In addition to coaching the event team, Holly is one of the UC Davis Equestrian Center's Program Coordinators.

Alana has been riding since she was two years old and began competing in Hunter/Jumpers at the age of six. In 1991, at the age of 13, Alana bought a 5-year-old Thoroughbred/Quarterhorse named Sunny and began eventing him at Novice. Alana and Sunny quickly rose through the levels, completing many Preliminary and CCI* competitions throughout California, Oregon, and Arizona. Alana and Sunny were selected to compete at Young riders but were unable to compete to do an injury, upon rehabbing Sunny they schooled through the Advanced level until he was retired. Alana has since shifted her focus to starting young horses and giving OTTB's second careers after racing.

Meet our 2021-2022 Team Officers
Hailey Trya President
4th year Animal Science Major
Horse: Bailey Tyra "Bailey", 6 year old OTTB
Hailey started her eventing career at just 6 years old and has continued to learn and progress throughout her life. In 2018, Hailey and her horse Friday came to UC Davis from Santa Fe, New Mexico. By the end of their freshman year on the team, they successfully achieved their goal of moving up to training level. Unfortunately, after her second year at Davis, Hailey lost her horse Friday. She is now looking forward to dedicating her time to her new horse Bailey in order to make her into a successful event horse. She enjoys riding in the team clinics and xc schoolings in order for her and Bailey to learn more. Hailey plans to compete Bailey as much as she can during her final year at Davis, and she hopes to continue to progress in her riding career with the support and friendship of the 3-Day Eventing Club. She is very excited to be the President of the team and help old and new members achieve their goals.
Lexi James - Vice President
4th Year Animal Science Major
Horse: HS Winston "Winston" and Dawn
Lexi Has been riding since she was 5 years old. Starting out in the western discipline she spent most of her childhood trail riding and doing gymkhana events. It wasn't until she was in highschool on the "Oregon High School Equestrian Team" that she started to find her passion for jumping. She had 2 horses, Pandy and Dawn. Her roots stuck with Pandy, being on the Drill team, participating in cow events and gymkhana. However, in high school she began jumping with her horse, Dawn in Hunter Jumper shows. Dawn took her through highschool and they completed their first event together at Woodside in 2019 where Lexi fell in love with eventing. During the summer of 2020 Lexi was able to begin leasing a Preliminary packer named Winston. They have now been a team for a year and a half and completed their first recognized event together at training level in September at Washington State Horse Park and are excited for the year to come.
Isabelle John - Event Coordinator
4th year Political Science Major
Horse: Cara Blanco "Blacno"
Isabelle has been riding since she was 7 years old and has tried many disciplines including hunter/jumper, western, and saddle seat. She rode primarily hunters and jumpers in her childhood, but fell in love with eventing 4 years ago. She grew up in Washington state but fell in love with Davis when she visited. When she was 12 she had the opportunity to help train and ride a young horse that was born at her barn. They showed in the hunters, jumpers, and dressage before Belle switched to eventing. Isabelle bought her horse Blanco 4 years ago, who she brought to UC Davis her first 2 years, and they competed through the preliminary level until Blanco retired to lower level work in the spring of 2021. Belle is looking forward to finding a new horse to continue eventing during her final year at UC Davis, but enjoys her time with the team even without a horse!
